Oceans of Discovery

Oceans of Discovery brings the marine world to life through dynamic, hands-on learning experiences that aim to inspire curiosity and foster a deeper appreciation for ocean life. Through engaging summer camps and a traveling Marine Education Roadshow, the organization is making marine science exciting, accessible, and unforgettable for young learners across Ireland.

Their popular three-day summer camps are designed for children aged 8–12 and teenagers aged 13–16. Each program blends interactive learning with outdoor adventure, helping participants build confidence, develop new skills, and make lasting memories in a high-energy, supportive environment.

The Marine Education Roadshow brings the ocean to communities nationwide. At its heart is the Mobile Native Species Aquarium, which offers an up-close encounter with local marine life. Visitors can also explore the 360° ‘Under the Sea’ Dome and examine rare specimens—including real whale bones—for a truly immersive experience.

All programs are led by Marine Scientist David Quinlan, who brings over two decades of experience and a deep passion for ocean education. Oceans of Discovery continues to make waves by connecting young people with the wonders of the sea in a way that is both educational and inspiring.
